Video 176: Aquablation: Modern Prostate Treatment
In Aquablation therapy, we insert an instrument which is guided by the robot and of course controlled by the physician. With this instrument, we determine the margin of the prostate and we resect it. The advantage of the Aquablation comparing to the other procedure that we have are: one, it can be done for almost all patients with any size of the prostate, and this is unique for Aquablation. Second, in most of the procedures that we use for treatment of the enlarged prostate we use heat, but in Aquablation we use high pressure water jet. Accordingly, sexual side effect in Aquablation is much less or almost negligible comparing to other procedures that we have currently.
