Dubai: For the first time, a laparoscopic (keyhole) operation, with a three-dimensional, high definition surgical vision system, has been performed in the UAE at Dubai Hospital’s Urology Department.
With this technology, the patients continue to experience the benefits of minimal invasive surgery, while the surgeon gains the critical depth perception he needs during the operation. It makes the operations safer, optimises the accuracy of the procedure and in, most cases the operation can be performed faster than the conventional 2D laparoscopic procedures.
The surgery is credited to urologist surgeon Dr Fariborz Bagheri.
