1) As an expert, do you personally recommend male circumcision?
Yes. In the absence of contraindications, I strongly recommend neonatal circumcision.
Benefits include fewer infant UTIs, prevention of phimosis, and a reduced risk of certain cancers, as well as a lower risk of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
However, it must always be performed by an expert physician.
2) Does circumcision reduce penile cancer and cervical cancer in female partners?
Yes, certainly. Male circumcision is associated with a much lower risk of penile cancer and cervical cancer in female partners.
The reason is that in females with uncircumcised partners, the risk of HPV infection is higher, which is a predisposing factor for cervical cancer.
3) Does circumcision affect sexual function?
Not at all. High-quality scientific evidence has shown no difference in satisfaction, erection, or sexual desire between circumcised and uncircumcised men.
4) What is expected after adult circumcision?
If circumcision is performed in adults, temporary changes may occur until complete healing.
Mild pain and swelling are common after circumcision; however, it is important to avoid sexual activity, including masturbation, for at least 4 to 6 weeks.
